Are you a neurodivergent Executive feeling like you can’t do this much longer but you can’t let everyone down?
Has work become an untenable problem that’s so stressful you can’t think straight?
I’m a coach and therapist, who works with neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+ Executives.

Do you feel stuck between shareholders’ yucky decisions and colleagues’ livelihoods, feeling alone, lonely and like a parent who’s been dealt a shitty hand?
Used to love playing sports and creative projects outside of work but feeling so guilty you can’t enjoy those things any more or find the time for them?
Constantly trying to think of solutions to please the board and colleagues, but getting nowhere, and don’t want to desert, but don’t know how much longer you can hang on for?
Counselling can’t make this situation at work better. But it can give you a safe sounding board to come back to yourself, reflect, and help you make empowered decisions.
Therapy can help you to navigate this situation by:
- Mapping your internal processes that make you feel responsible for everyone and everything, so you can give yourself a break, and begin to make decisions that feel okay
- Exploring your stuck feelings, so you can feel anger, shock, and hurt safely, and have freedom in the way you approach things even when others behave unethically
- Understanding how the stress at work affects how you feel about yourself at play and vice versa, so you can choose to take time off, knowing it will help you at work
I became a coach about 20 years ago after a decade of working in corporate environments. My own experience of trying hard to bridge unfair gaps between top-down decisions and the people it affects helped me to see how self-sabotage is a way of coping with untenable situations.
As a coach, I witnessed many people’s different ways of coping – usually by being very harsh on themselves. It’s a double whammy because it made it even harder for them to do the things they really wanted to do. They found themselves endlessly practising conversations they wanted to have to persuade the board of the ethical necessities, whilst not allowing themselves to get angry. Trying to keep a lid on the emotions is exhausting!
To support and hold these people more deeply I earned a Master’s in creative psychotherapy and I wrote a book about the types of inner saboteurs that can take away peace of mind. The book is called SHINE How to Overcome the Trauma of Living and Feel Our Way to Authenticity.
I’ve supported hundreds of clients in coaching and therapy to make changes that have helped them come back to themselves, able to navigate horrible situations without fear of losing it, and to maintain the things they love doing outside of work. I’d love to help you too.
I get it regarding being ADHD, autistic, or any of the elements of being neurodivergent. It’s the same with being LGBTQIA+. It’s much easier to navigate safely in coaching and therapy when someone is already on board with these things and you don’t have to explain what it means. I am queer and neurodivergent (ADHD diagnosis; awaiting autism assessment) and I get it. I’ve worked with hundreds of LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodivergent people.
I’m trauma-informed and use creative methods and my shamanic drumming in sessions. They are powerful ways of relating differently to self-sabotage so that you feel more confident in yourself and your abilities.

Testimonal
“I was repeating behaviour that I felt was unhealthy but it was automatic, and I was frustrated/ angry at myself that it was happening. With Julia’s help I found that I had made many of these behaviours to protect myself and survive during childhood and they were still hanging on. These automatic rules and behaviours were affecting every part of my life in ways I was not initially aware of.
The sessions gave me the space to acknowledge that I don’t need these damaging behaviours anymore, to let go and make more relevant behaviour or action patterns.
I was hesitant about the time investment as I’ve previously undergone therapy that left me shaken with not enough recovery time but I was able to explore and deep dive into investigating and understanding certain behaviours, beliefs or childhood experiences and bringing it back into the present and what it meant for me now. It was an organic and patient way of reflecting. And I found practical, clear steps towards something better.
Julia helped guide me along through my past and helped make a new path for myself by breaking down the picture and putting it back together again. I feel able to let go and gently refocus on the new picture and ways forward.”
