Reeds has six layers of paint and was built up using yellow and green glazes before making marks. The lines were made using a Phthalo Green glaze, which is a beautiful dark green. Then the purple dots were adding using a rule of three. Next I added three tiny white dots to each set of three purple dots. Here are photos of the process:
