Artist Statement
Multi-disciplinary artist currently exploring connection with my ancestors through sculpture and embroidery, using an intuitive, shamanic process to build layers. It’s a similar process to my paintings, which have layers of dots, lines, and blending. Themes in my work are power/powerlessness and the othering that can occur from these. I express the tensions and beauty to be found in the dynamics of these opposites, which matches those found in nature and cosmology.
